With a distinguished career in his field, Michael May is the Chief Operating Officer and founder of CCRE. CCRE has grown to over 300 employees and is a national leader in CMBS, Bridge, and agency lending with over $10 billion originated in 2014. CCRE services roughly $50 billion of commercial loans and has financed commercial properties in all fifty states, several US territories, Mexico, and the Caribbean.
Previously, Michael was a Managing Director at Credit Suisse, where he was a senior member of the Real Estate Finance Group. In his capacity, he oversaw West Coast and Latin American operations for the group, including the origination and distribution of CMBS and other real estate related products. In his twelve years at Credit Suisse, Michael led the origination of more than $20 billion in financing and innovated numerous CMBS products, including the securitization structures for condominiums, construction projects, ski mountains and casinos.
Michael joined Credit Suisse First Boston in 1997. Prior to this, he focused on the acquisition of subordinated CMBS and the structured distribution of whole loans, real estate and equity at General Electric Capital Corporation. He previously spent seven years at Arthur Andersen LLP in the Real Estate Consulting Practice.
Michael and his wife Joey are the proud parents of daughter Sienna and live in New York City. They have a wonderful spirit of philanthropy and work to improve the lives of children and their families. They are committed to a number of organizations including Robin Hood and Success Academy Charter Schools.
Sush Torgalkar, based in New York, serves as Chief Operating Officer of Westbrook Partners. Westbrook Partners is private real estate investment company founded in 1994. Over the last twenty years, Westbrook has invested over $11 billion of equity in approximately $45 billion of real estate investments across the world on behalf of public and corporate pension funds, endowments, foundations and financial institutions.
Mr. Torgalkar is a member of Westbrook’s Investment Committee where he coordinates Westbrook’s global operations including acquisition, asset management and investor relations activities and helps oversee the management of the firm. Mr. Torgalkar has been with Westbrook since 2000, during which time he has been an integral member of the project teams for many of Westbrook’s complex transactions in the United States, Europe and Japan.
Prior to joining Westbrook, Mr. Torgalkar was in the Real Estate Investment Banking Group at Merrill Lynch. Mr. Torgalkar received a B.S. from Cornell University in 1999. He currently serves as a member of the Dean’s Advisory Board at Cornell’s School of Hotel Administration. Mr. Torgalkar is also on the Board of Trustees of St. Edward High School in Lakewood, Ohio. He lives in Mamaroneck, NY with his wife and three children.
