Danielle LetscheWhile this isn't Danielle's first race, this is her first ever marathon.
"Pediatric illness has affected a number of people very close to me and I know what hospital life can do to a kid. I've volunteered at a local children's hospital before and saw what a difference a simple arts and crafts project could make. The scope of activities that enCourage Kids brings to these patients is really remarkable and truly life changing.
"Every day as I'm pushing my body to do what many think is insane, I'm reminded of how lucky I am to have the strength and ability to run 26.2 miles. I run for the people, especially kids, who can't."
Andreea BoitorWhile Andreea used to hate running, she has since come to love it. After her first year living in New York, she found the NYC Marathon while running errands. Since then, due to the energy and adrenaline, she decided that one day she was going to run in this iconic race.
Andreea said, "Running on behalf of Team enCourage Kids means a great deal to me – I am running on behalf of Danielle, Christina, Tyriee, and every single child out there that is dealing with a health issue. I am running so that hopefully they will have at least one extra smile on their faces!"
Dre SchneiderThis year Dre decided that it was his ‘Year of Yes’.
He's said ‘yes’ to going bungee jumping, starting a new business, and running. As Dre said, "I started in March because my friend and now training partner Ari was putting together a group for a half. It was a blast and the running fire was lit.
When I heard Team enCourage Kids was looking for runners, there was only one answer."
"It's not a feeling you can describe, but I can tell you that it's been one of my proudest moments running for enCourage Kids," shared Bernardo.
Lavana is excited to see our cheering squad at mile 21.
Despite having already secured entry to the marathon, Jennifer (right), an active member of our Young Professionals Committee, decided to join #TeamenCourageKids and help raise funds for the second year in a row.
